Clipo is like a flat lego that isn't that easy to create 'real' things from. I found that this was a great addition to the clipo hippo and other clipo we already owned as it allowed the children to build spinning towers. The centre part of the table requires batteries and rotates around which fascinated my son.

I think the ideal age for this toy is 1-3 as not many creative things can be made, but we built towers from the colours and used it for colour recognition. The blocks are great for little hands and click together very easy allowing little children to build on their hand eye coordination by sticking the blocks together then pulling them apart.

I wouldn't pay $60.00 for this toy as i do not think it is very versatile, but i tracked ours down second hand and the boys seem to have gotten the enjoyment from it at a younger age than perhaps is recommended.

We have had several sets of Clipo for over two years now. The Clipo Creativity Table is the favourite with all the pre-school children that use it.

The centre has a spinning disk that makes two other pieces rotate using cogs. I really like that although it is battery operated it turns off after a few seconds so the batteries aren't wasted and so the children can modify their creation.

On the sides are two storage areas which makes for easy clean up. The lid on one of these sides is a posting box so children identify the shapes. The other side is a different shape matching activity which we often us for building towers with the Clipo shapes.

I have never had any pieces of Clipo break and the children can be quite rough with it. They are so easy to clean with soapy water (except for the part with the batteries).

I don't find the Cipo pieces easy to build with and the children will often get frustrated that they can't build what they want.

I tell ya... back when I was a kid, we were lucky if we got more than three colours of Lego blocks in the one kit... and the rest of the playtoys were wooden offcuts from the construction sites around my home... and nowdays you can get all sorts of cool toys... including Clipo!

By far the funkiest addition to the NZ range of Clipo is this creativity table. With storage buckets inside the legs, a shape-sorter in one leg-lid and a post-it-slot in the lid of the other, 2 spinning cogged wheels and a cogged motor in between, plus lots of extra places to build clipo-structures... it's one seriously awesome place for little people to play and build... both things, and minds.

As if the table isn't stunning enough on it's own. you also get a whole swag of assorted Clipo blocks... squares and circles and triangles, both hollow and solid-filled, and in an assortment of sizes too! I tell ya... if this isn't one of the best Christmas presents for a young kid who loves to build, then it's pretty darned close!

My eldest boy happily spent hours playing with this table... and he's quite an accomplished constructor, being a master at Lego and K'Nex, as well as a dab-hand when it comes to helping his Dad with home renovations, so he no beginner. It showed me just how great an effect a small motorised cog could have! But his greatest thrill was showing off his constructions to his little baby brother, who was all smiles and coo's of delight as little houses and animals spun slowly around in front of him.

Sure, this doesn't look affordable, especially in these fiscally tight times, but I want to say that considering what you get, and how long it's going to last... at the very worst you should still be able to sell it on or hand it down in a few years... it'll last the distance unless totally abused! This stuff is TOUGH!

Overall, still has that slight difficulty attaching pieces together, but from what I have seen it's more the adults who grizzle about it... the kids just take it in their stride and get on with playing with it. Trust them... it is aimed at them, after all! A great buy, and well worth hunting down at your nearest quality toy stockist.
