Abacus Learning Centre product reviews

This abacus is full of interesting things to look at and do.

The letters are accompanied by pictures of an object starting with that letter on one side and both upper & lower case letters on the other side.

Beads to be counted are at the bottom, and a clock with movable hands all add to the attraction of this wooden learning centre.

My daughter was given one of these for her first birthday. I let her play with it for a bit at that age, but she was still unsteady in her movements. After a close call with the sharp edge, I put it away.

The toy came back out again when she was finally taking an interest in letters and words and numbers. She loves the letters, the illustrations for the letters, the numbers and the bright colours. I love that this toy shows upper and low case letters. Too often kids are only exposed to one case or the other. This leads to some confusion when it's time to read. This toy allowed us to have that conversation about cases nice and early.

Having numbers is useful as well, as these are just shapes like letters until all the learning falls into place. Having a clock face adds another learning opportunity as well. Overall I'm really happy with this toy. Its educational, it gets a lot of use as she is practising her letters. I just don't think its much use for children under 3.

We are currently teaching our daughter the alphabet, and have found this to be a useful tool. I like the fact that the alphabet is in upper and lower case. It would have been great to have had the numerials up to ten though, (as opposed to 4). One aspect I didn't like was the fact that aeroplane (airplane) and yoghurt (yogurt) were spelt incorrectly.
It was great to have the clock there, it will be of great benefit when she gets a little older.
Our younger daughter (1) loved playing with the coloured beads, it kept her amused for ages!
The packaging was good and had all of the relevant info on it.
Pricewise, I think it could have been a little cheaper, but all in all I'm satisfied with the product.

Editorial Note:
Airplane and Yogurt are the American spellings, whereas in New Zealand we tend to follow the British spellings. Both spellings are correct and acceptable according to the Oxford Dictionary.

Was shopping for my nephew's third birthday, looking for something fun, but educational, at the same time. I spotted this Baby First Abacus Learning Centre, and thought "That would be perfect".
It Looked easy to use and looked like it was pretty sturdy. Kids like things that they can move and learn from, and it looked like a great way to help with interactive learning, with the parent helping the child learn Letters, Numbers, Colours, and objects, all with the one fun toy.
My nephew played with it straight away when he opened it, and then later on during his party. He had quite a lot of toys to choose from. I think he enjoyed interacting with it, and since his birthday, I hear he still plays with it pretty frequently, with Mummy helping him count, and learn at the same time.
Maybe the blocks & clock could be a little larger in size and the stand be able to lock in place so it doesn't close up to easily, but other than that, an excellent toy, and learning tool.
I will, and have, recommended this toy to others.
