Having been introduced to the phenomenon of the Rocky Horror Show back when I was in High School (seeing the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' for a class project) I was eagerly antici......pating the 31st anniversary production of the world renowned classic rock musical of all time.

Enough drivel and on with the review.

Firstly the show overall. Well what can I say apart from a few minor technical glitches (which any show worth it's salt goes through) this was a well planned and choreographed production. With its simple but functional set meaning virtually no set changes makes for a flowing production. The lighting and musical direction was of the highest quality and the music itself could have been from a Broadway soundtrack if not for the five extremely talented gents sitting in the orchestra pit with their instruments at the ready.

Next the Musical Numbers, all in all very well done, although I'm not to sure personally about the new look 'Time Warp' the audience seemed to respond well to the change, but call me old fashioned I think I'll stick with the original.

Now the cast:
Shane Cortese - Frank 'n' Furter: Who would have known he could sing, and pretty well at that. And he obviously loves the role, as shown by the exuberance of his performance.

Richard Long - The Narrator: Well he's no Rob Muldoon, but he's okay in my books. Whilst obviously out of his element doing a live stage show, he once again shows us how a professional person acts, although I don't quite know if I'll ever get over the sight of him in fishnet stockings and satin boxers.

Regan Taylor - Brad: Considering he is the worlds first Maori Brad, Regan does a not-too-shabby job of the bespectacled blundering nerd/geek, and the scene with him and Frank in the bedroom has to be seen to be believed.

Bede Skinner - Rocky: From Cleo Batchelor of the Year to Rocky, what a lucky son of a ......, and he can act and sing as well to boot.

Ingrid Park - Janet: What can I say, Susan Sarandon eat your heart out, this girl has it all, good looks, a good voice and gets to dance around in her underwear.

Kane Parsons - Riff Raff: My God what a voice, and the hair works for him. Yes if there ever was a Riff Raff besides Richard O'Brien, it's Kane Parsons.

Joanne Steward - Magenta: There could have been no better choice for the role of Magenta than Joanne, she is Magenta no two ways about it.

Sophia Fuller - Columbia: Full of energy for what is one of the more energetic roles, Sophia is the epitome of Columbia.

Dean O'Flaherty - Dr Scott/Eddy: Finally we have a man wearing two hats, well one wig anyway. Taking on the role of both Eddy the motorcycling love interest of Columbia, and Dr Scott, the wheelchair bound alien-seeking scientist. Dean does a good job of both these roles.
