'At the Zoo' was a definite hit for my little girl when she was about 1 and a half. We had just taken her for her first ever trip to the zoo, and on our way home stopped in at the book shop and found her this book, which she has loved ever since as she is a huge animal fan and also a fan of the zoo, which we seem to visit almost every week!

'At the Zoo' is a touchy-feely book which seems to really appeal to Miss 2, she loves books that she can listen to adn explore different textures through, which are great for expanding her imagination and also giving a slight experience of what each of the different pictured animals may feel like. The pictures are beautifully illustrated and represent real life animals, rather than cartoon or hand-drawn representations. The pictures are nice and bright and show great detail to the animals skin and features etc and are very engaging for young readers.

The book is easy to read and short enough to catch the attention span of a infant or toddler with only a few words per page. Now that Miss 2 is older and still likes to look at this page from time to time we add our own questions and stories to the book, talking about what we saw each of the animals on the pages doing at the zoo on our visits, and also by playing a bit of a game by finding the animals eyes, ears, noses etc which she seems to enjoy.

Being a board board the pages are strong and sturdy making it great for the intended age group.

Touchy-feely books - is there anything that kids love more? I am struggling to think of things! These books are perfect for little fingers with the textures to engage their minds as well.

This one, all about the zoo has lots of different animals with different textures of "skin" to touch and explore, and of course to pull at, suck on and scratch - always important as you are learning.

These books have lovely pictures that show the real animal and are nice and bright to capture little children's attention.

The "story" itself is one that you can read over and over to all ages - making it into a "I spy" with older kids, or a "where's the" with younger ones.

The book is a board book, and so far has been well made and sturdy - withstanding our two girls and many many friends that have come to visit also.

These are a huge hit in our house, and being good value they are a perfect addition to a birthday present - or as we did, in the Christmas stocking.

These child sized books are perfect for little hands and little exploring minds.

The zoo version includes a range of animals that have different textures for the children to touch, and knowing most infants and toddlers, to taste!
The thing I like about these books is the bright colours and the fact that there are more than a few words on each page.

With sturdy board book style pages and materials that are well glued into them, this book will last most children well as they explore and learn with it.
