I do not know anyone who has seen this movie and hasn't had a bit of a cry or 'if your a man' had a lump in his throat. A truly touching tale of how far one man will go for his dogs. Paul Walker is great in this role and besides the total dream factor you can feel the raw emotion as he fights to get back to Antarctica.

When bad weather and an accident means they have to leave Antarctica, Walker ties the Huskies up believing he would be returning shortly but when the officials declare that the season is over he must fight to try and get back to his believed pets. Thankfully the dogs escape from the chain and you get to view there adventures. The end is definitely a hanky occasion.

For anyone who loves animals this is definitely a great movie to watch. Its beautifully filmed and reminds you how wonderful this world is. Another great point is New Zealand features in it so kinda makes you feel more involved. Love it and highly recommend. Best part is its a movie you can watch several times and not get bored of it. Fantastic for all ages.

When this movie came out my daughter insisted that we watched it. She loves animals and loves huskies and after watching the Disney comedy about sled dogs she thought this one was right up her alley. We hired it out on DVD one weekend and watched it as a family. I am glad that we watched it as a family as there were sad moments and she was quite young at the time.

It was a great tale of companionship and the bond between human and animal which was an animal lover you can really appreciate. I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to make the decision to leave your sled dogs behind. Also a great tale of survival in a cold climate and one that I find really fascinating and scary!! It had a nice ending and for that I am glad as my daughter was quite nervous the whole time.

A great rainy day movie to watch with the family. 10/10 from me love it.

A heart-warming, if toe-freezing, tale of friendship, dedication and hope. When a freak snowstorm forces Jerry to fly out of the Antarctic base station without his team of dogs, he begins a 175 journey of love to retrieve them. Confronted by red tape and pig-headed pencil-pushers, bad weather and seasonal obstructions, Jerry and his rag-tag team find ways to push through and reach the now-empty base.

I was really impressed with the way the movie split the plots, devoting the majority of the move between Jerry's enforced departure and his evetual return, over to the saga of how the dogs cope with the weather, the need for food, and the inevitable confrontations with other ice-dwelling predators. It was full of tear-jerking moments, triumphs and sorrows, that gave the movie a well-rounded result worthy of the Disney legacy, but without being all cutesy and fluffy as some Disney movies are.

Overall, this is a family movie well worth seeing. The adults will enjoy the action and drama, and the kids will thrill to tale of the dogs as they strive to survive. PG rated, there are moments the little ones will need some guidance and reassurance, but in the whole a wholesome movie for everyone to enjoy.
