Review #19415 - Dated: 11th of March, 2018 Author: shellcruise |
This would literally be one of my worst nightmares. Surviving a plane crash, in the middle of nowhere. No chance of any help finding you - unless its by one hell of a miracle as no flight plan was ever recorded, pilot is dead, no idea what direction to take, cell phones don't work and you have survived with a complete stranger and you are both hurt. Do you sit near the crash and prey that someone locates you or do you pick yourself up and carry your injured body with only the shear will of wanting to survive pushing you along. It is definitely a fascinating watch and leaves you wandering what would you do.
The location is beautiful and if you were not routing for the two actors to make it you would be in awe of the amazing landscape. The acting is just so believable. You are completely mesmerised by the whole thing. Its one of those movies that you become completely lost in and, surprisingly, the pace never lets up. Throw a dog into the mixture and you find your heart is breaking as each step they take gets them closer to survival
One thing that I was so impressed with is that instead of finishing once they have gotten to safety they continue the movie and the aftermath - I really was not expecting that. I assumed there would be a wedding and they would see each other and that would be it but instead it goes into their lives and shows how the crash has impacted them personally and shows how much they have changed. It has always fascinated me that one simple act can impact your life totally and in a year from now you are a completely different person. These two have changed so much and everything they had before the crash has now gone which shows just how precious life really is.
This movie definitely casts a spell over you and you are so involved with it that it is hard to come back to reality. It touches you in the heart strings and reminds you that anything is possible - that life really is worth fighting for and the need to survive is more important then anything else. That you need to face your fear head on - even though the odds are stacked against you and really the possibilities are next to none. A great movie!
