Sssh ... NOT for parents! You can keep a SECRET, right?

Clara and I have a herd of tiny, talking, whizzie-whooshy, flying horses - and they're REAL! It's true.

Those naughty Miniwings get us into so much TROUBLE! Who would have thought a computer game could lead to such classroom CHAOS!

When I saw these available they looked perfect for my three kids and I knew they were getting a good buzz (my mums work held a launch party for these books and were nice and busy on the day). I have a horse lover, an all things glitter lover and a cheeky animals lover and this book has all of those features. The cover is eyecatching and full of sparkle, made to catch the eye and features one of the six Miniwings, in this case Whizz. We get a two page intro from the main character, a small intro to each of the Miniwings and at the back of the book a fun little glossary for some of the words the Miniwings use.

For me, on my own, this was a very fast read and took no time at all to get through, I found it to be fun, full of mischief and entertaining enough. My kids have all taken time just to look at the book, Miss Six particularly loves looking at the pictures that are throughout the book and has said she'd love to have her own mini Pegasus. My eight year old wanted to know if they could colour in the pages, as there were some black and white illustrations, so as to add her own zing to the story. My nine year old, who is hitting their stride when it comes to reading, started reading this to themselves and it's given them plenty to add to their already huge imaginations.

This was a fun book, nice and easy to read and a good one for the kids, will be keeping my eyes out for the rest of the Miniwings adventures.

My daughter who is eight, has now got to the stage where she is reading books at night in bed - alone eeekkkkk. She is requesting chapter books which are still simple enough for her to read without any worries and prefers pictures included. When I saw this series up for review thru KR I jumped at the opportunity, as we all love magical creatures and it looked like a fun nice simple book. We received two books to review this time around and my daughter took both down to her room to read. Luckily the first book was read in one night and that included a book report. This book only took her two nights and again with a full book report (she is reading books for our local library to get a Hell Pizza free and is taking it very seriously.) I was allowed to read them both once she had finished and luckily they were both quick reads.

This book only took me a little over thirty minutes to read, it really is a fast book. It does have chapters which can easily be read over seven nights if you desired. The chapters are nice and short and each page is covered in pictures or has a boarder or something to brighten the page up so your eyes are continually being pulled in numerous directions. Occasionally there are little notes written around the page which makes it fun and quirky. I have to admit that I found it rather full on when the Miniwings were involved and there was continuous chatter going on and really it is a very busy story.

I did like at the start of the book you do get a brief introduction to the Miniwings which explains their personality and in some cases little footnotes about them. At the back of the book is a dictionary of Miniwing-ese words, which although you can kind of guess what they were saying it is rather neat to have a complete break down for your reference.

No shock really, but my daughter loved it and is keen to read more books about them, and if it was up to her she would also want the actual Horses to come live with us, after reading this I would say NO! It is a cute book and is really suited for under tens. I found it rather silly but I can appreciate that I am not the audience they are catering after. I loved the pictures and the story is basic enough to follow along with. This is perfect for young children.
