Farrah's Burrito Tortillas are light and fluffy, smooth-edged with softness you can feel. The golden toast marks are the result of traditional baking, over an open flame, just like the Aztecs did in Mexico all those years ago. These were the third Farrah's wrap type product I reviewed this month and I have tried most of what Farrahs have available so this was going to be a tough sell for me. I am not a massive Tortilla fan in general but they are ok toasted and filled with the right ingredients. This review mainly focuses on the versatility of these if you are already a fan of Tortillas. I personally would choose the smaller version however.

I liked the bright packaging which was easy to open and keep sealed (I use a magic lock bag sealer for this which is great). It is good to buy a clearly New Zealand product from a reliable provider who has never disappointed me and I would rate as one of the best all-round suppliers of wraps etc.

Husband prepped these and commented they were easy and the instructions clear and they didn't stick. We used them for a mexican leftovers dinner from a nachos night. We also used them for a spicy tuna lunch and a rice/bean/vege quick dinner.

I would say there is nothing wrong with these tortillas but I like to be a bit more wowed so they were good but not great and now I am looking for a great product to switch me from my regular products. I personally prefer the smaller ones as value for money but each to their own. Husband said he would buy them again as they "did the job" and he didn't like the small ones as they left him feeling a bit shortchanged.

I find that tortillas are such a versatile ingredient and we always have at least a couple of packets floating around in the pantry. It is not uncommon for me to have a couple for lunch with salad, tuna, and spicy peri peri mayo. Other ways that we use tortillas are for burritos, enchiladas, and as a pizza base. When I saw this product available to review I thought I would love to try them for making my children pizzas in the school holidays.

The packaging is beautiful to be frank, an eye-catching contrast of colours incorporating an image of a delicious meal with colourful ingredients. The Farrah's brand name sits proudly at the top of the packet. These tortillas are flame baked, contain no artificial flavours or colours, are vegetarian and vegan friendly. Included in this packet are 10 flour tortillas, Farrah's has included a recipe for the delicious meal, and also provided some extra ideas on how to use the product.

When it came time to use the tortillas I decided to keep it simple, the children chose ham and cheese as their toppings for the pizza. The tortillas are soft and smooth to touch, yet strong enough not to crack or tear when being worked with. I popped them in the oven and they did not take long at all to cook due to how thick they are, the end result was a delicious, thin based pizza. I was initially worried that with the cooking and the toppings that the tortilla would be soggy, the result was quite the opposite and it was nice and crisp and stayed together. The taste was nice, and the size was ideal, we did not use them all so next time we will make some chicken wraps for dinner. One point that I would like to bring to attention, is that the packaging is not resealable, we only used 4 wraps so were left with trying to find a suitable way to store them to keep them fresh.

Personally I believe we will purchase these in the future, this product is of a high quality, and at an affordable price, with the numerous ways you can use this product, you can't go wrong.

I was challenged by a friend to use beansprouts (which she dislikes intensely) in a winter recipe, so I raided the kitchen to see what else I could find. The tortillas I planned to build the meal around were the perfect size for younger people - she has three children at primary school - so the filling needed to be tasty enough to appeal to them but sufficiently compact to fit into the wrap. I chose to use lean pork mince, a sliced red onion, cannellini beans, unsalted peanuts, seasoning, and (of course) some mung beansprouts. After frying the mince and onion, I added the other ingredients and heated them all together.

The children had been keen to help, and were surprised to see that I put each tortilla flat on a slightly greased pan and then spread a tablespoon of beansprout mixture on one half. I then added a teaspoon of sour cream dip on top and smeared a little more dip along one edge before folding the tortilla in half. It took only a minute to brown; I then flipped it to brown the other side. To the children's delight, the edges stuck together, enclosing the filling and making it look rather like a conventional pasty. We repeated the process one tortilla at a time, storing the completed wraps in the oven to keep them warm.

The result was an outstanding success. Not only did the children love the idea of having an alternative "pasty" to eat, but they forgot all about the inclusion of beansprouts! I cooked the entire packet so we could have two each; my friend and I dipped ours into sweet chilli sauce while the younger ones opted for tomato sauce. They were the perfect finger food, and I can see them as being useful to serve at a party when something a little more substantial (and a lot healthier) than potato chips is required. As a bonus, the filling does not fall out when you bite into them!

What I really liked about the tortillas was that they did not have a strong flavour on their own, so were the ideal complement to a filling that was comprised of different flavours and textures. We especially liked the combination of crunchy peanuts and soft beans inside the crispy tortilla shell. It is certainly not a food that could be described as boring, yet the ingredients are basically good for you and filling as well. Add to that the satisfaction of eating a hot meal on a cold winter's night - the filled tortillas could be served with cooked vegetables on the side to make a substantial dinner - and the variations are endless.

I love Farrah wraps, they're always so soft, flexible, versatile and most of all, they don't break under pressure of the weight of a good meal. My first impression was that these particular wraps looked like the perfect size for my family, the bigger ones are just too cumbersome for my kids and certainly never can be finished by my youngest. Getting one of these wraps though, I was very hopeful that they would be just right for her to eat.

Unintentionally, the meat I cooked up to go in the wrap ended up very watery due to the chopped tomatoes, and so I was very concerned that the wraps would disintegrate on me and all over the show. Well, they did NOT! Not a single tear, rip or hole came about and even though it felt a bit touch and go to begin with, the wraps held together beautifully and didn't look any of their filling. My kids were easily able to 'nappy wrap' their own meals and delighted at not only how easy it was, but that their wraps didn't break apart like the last wraps they had had. This size was perfect for my youngest child, though she did seem to have a little trouble with it chewing wise, she was able to finish the entire wrap.

I am fully converted, I know I can get more wraps out of the cheaper brand but they just have no where near the class or quality that Farrahhas.

I really think Farrah's have really got something going very well with their range of wraps, they have thought outside the box and added lots of flavours, grains and different sizes to their range to cater for the market. These burrito wraps are well made, soft, easily rolled but still manage to stay intact; making them a perfect wrap around a hot mince burrito mixture.

The packet had a generous amount of ten tortillas in it, and I noted that the packet was colour coded to it's corresponding spice mix which was a very smart idea. I was a bit disappointed that the bag did not have a freshness seal on it, but after thinking about it, I wondered if Farrahs had decided to forgo this as the tortillas should be eaten in one sitting.

These tortillas are very versatile, so much so that I ended up using the last three unused extra tortilla left over after having our burritos as pizza bases the following night. They once again lived up to their promise and stayed intact and crisped up nicely cooked with our favourite pizza toppings - even canned spaghetti topping for the kids! I think families will not go past these tortillas for their versatility and taste. A quick search of Google gives you so many choices, a great way to get all the family involved in cooking.

Farrah's Mexican Tortillas - Burrito are a perfectly blended wrap. I love how easy they are to pull apart and how easy they are to use, the no cracks and splits are great as making a wrap or tortilla and it breaks is the worst. When I opened the bag I did notice though that you can reseal the bag up again, so if you don't use the whole 10 in one sitting you would have to glad wrap them up afterwards. I do however like the packaging and the yummy picture on the front showing a tortilla being made.

I like how on the back as well have some directions and suggestions on how to use them. It also gives pictures of the amazing spice mixes can get to make the burritos, taco or nachos with. These tortillas are great and I would use them again. I made some yummy burritos with them, and my son really liked them. My son liked how they did not crack and he found them easy to eat with. Some other brands we have used in the past have cracked and split and have ended up just being a massive mess on his plate.

I also really like how these are amazing for school lunches I had a couple left over from dinner so I made my son a wrap for school, adding lettuce, cheese and some ham. He really enjoyed it and said was better than having bread, as he gets over having sandwiches for lunch. I like how easy it is to make and the wrap in glad wrap, the glad wrap sticks to the tortillas well. These would be great to take camping over summer time, but my only moan would be the non re seal tab as that would be awesome for storage, apart from that, yum.

Wraps and tacos are a regular occurrence in our house as I often have late nights at work and meals such as this are always quick and easy to prepare, while being light and healthy. Tonight I teamed the Farrah's Mexican Torillas - Burrito with the Farrah's Mesican Burrito mix.

I cooked up a mixture of chicken, capsicum, red onion, garlic, lime juice and the burrito mix. I also cut up some lettuce and spinach leaves for putting inside the wraps too. As the mixture was cooking I read the back of the packet to find out how to heat the wraps up. The packet certainly is bright and eye catching and I like that they have a recipe suggestion on the back. Once I found the instruction panel (among everything else on the packet it seemed a little hidden but definitely there!) I opened up the packet ready to heat the wraps required for our dinner. Being only two of us I didn't need to heat all 10 so just pulled 4 out of the packet. I was surprised at how easy this was. Other wrap brands we have had have been really hard to separate, often resulting in tears in the wraps. The Farrah wraps certainly didn't stick together and appeared light and fluffy. I put them in the microwave for 10 seconds as instructed before putting them on the chopping board to fill. I placed all of the ingredients in before folding the bottom up and then wrapping the sides around to close the wrap. The wraps folded with ease and there were no tears, cracks or splits which you often get with other brands of wraps too. It certainly makes it easier to eat when the wrap doesn't fall apart from small tears appearing!

My husband and I both enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be looking for the Farrah wraps in the future. One of the best things is that the packet states they are suitable to be kept in an air tight container for up to five days, or can be frozen for up to 3 months which means we will get another dinner meal plus a lunch out of them. Makes it far more worth the money when they cover multiple meals for us. Thanks Farrah and KIWIreviews.

When it comes to buying wraps you can never go past Farrah's, as there wraps are far superior compared to other brands on the market. Farrah's wraps are always light and fluffy and oh so fresh. They are so easy to work with and to use as they never crack, split, rip or tear when rolled any which way, making them super versatile. Seeing a new range of Farrah's wraps on the market made me super excited as I am always looking for new amazing products to try from the brands I know and love.

The flame baked burrito tortillas come in a pack of 10, the packaging is as usual bright and eye catching and gives an example of a yummy product that can be created using these wraps. Upon opening up this pack I did notice that this bag is not resealable like many of the other Farrah's wraps are which I was a little disappointed in as 10 wraps are a lot of wraps to be using all at once, none the less I popped these into a snaplock bag so that they will stay fresh.

I had seen a recipe for making apple pie tacos which I had been wanting to try, and these tortilla wraps proved to be perfect for these as I felt they seemed a little softer and fluffier than other wraps in the range. Using a round cutter I cut 2 circles from each wrap and fried them in some hot oil until they were beginning to crisp up, then I folded them in half to create a shape of a taco shell while they finished off crisping up and going golden. these were then coated in a mixture of cinnamon and caster sugar and filled with a chunky sweet apple filling. These were absolutely amazing served with salted caramel ice cream and my family couldn't get enough of them, even Miss 3 loved them. I loved that the tortilla wraps made for a nice light dessert which was a nice change from eating apple pie made with pastry.

With the leftover pieces from the apple pie tacos I made some tortilla chips in the oven which I brushed with garlic butter, these turned out crisp and delicious and went great served with hummus and guacamole dips, they were a great snack for Miss 3 and perfect for eating while watching a movie.

Of course these had to be used to make burritos and I must report they worked well and tasted amazing topped with some mince, rice, salad greens, tomato, cheese, avocado and sour cream. They were just the right size to hold and eat comfortably and I loved that they didn't fall apart, or leak liquids out of them which meant no soggy wraps!

These certainly are another great Farrah's product which I would love to team up and try again using the new Farrah's burrito spice mix. 10/10 from me.

I recently bought myself a sandwich press - of all the dinky "small appliances" that have come and go through my kitchen cupboards over the years, it's the one thing I always felt I should get "one of these days" - so... I did it. Prompted, in no small part, by a desire to try making quesadillas with some of the wraps I got for review. Never having made them before, I was going to be winging it every step - fillings and methodology.

The biggest worries I had were the wraps burning or blistering before I got the fillings in and the top wrap on, or the fillings spilling out everywhere and making a huge mess... so I kinda cheated and instead of making a traditional quesadilla - with a flat wrap on top and bottom sandwiching the fillings - I made two taco-dillas - each wrap folded in half and filled. Not only did this solve both concerns - I could make them on the chopping board and place them in the press ready-filled, but also the fillings had one less direction they could spread - but when it came time to eat them, I didn't even need to cut them, once they had cooled down a bit I was able to eat them mess-free!

The wraps proved to be sturdy enough to hold themselves together even folded AND toasted - a state that would have lower-quality wraps splitting and cracking like... well, like taco shells - yet they were crispy and gave a satisfying crunch as I bit into them. Taste and texture combined into a glorious meal that has inspired me to experiment with other fillings. I may even make burrito-beef quesadillas next! I just have to remember to pop into the butchers for some good beef mince.

Overall, despite not using these to make burritos - the one Mexican dish I always struggle to eat cleanly - I really enjoyed these wraps. They are big enough to be filling but small enough to fit in a sandwich press or frying pan, a perfect size. Having 10 in a pack means a good meal for the whole family from a single pack, with plenty left over to cover the last-minute guest/s that can sometimes pop up as we get closer to Christmas and the BBQ season.
