The first Hangover was hillarious, the second was a major let down, the third.... even worse.

The Hangover Part 3 is a cynical, mean-spirited follow-up featuring characters that we grew to really like in the original but now can't wait to see gone or at least for the movie to be over so. The movie reunites Phil, Stu, Doug and Alan after Alan's dad dies and he causes a major accident on the freeway with a Girraffe. On the was to Arizona, to get Alan more help (and back on his medication) when they are run off the road by Marshall (John Goodman who plays the best character in the entire movie), a gangster who has been robbed off $21 million worth of gold from Leslie Chow and naturally, because the Wolfpack were close with Chow, Marshall kidnaps Doug (I think I'd be finding new friends by now) and demands that Chow and his gold be returned, this is followed by tonnes of silliness and misunderstandings now.

The first two movies were set as comedies but this felt much more like an action movie than a comedy and the jokes that did happen (few and far between) just weren't that funny at all, some of them were rather mean to be honest and I don't find nasty things happening to animals to be amusing (such as happens to the giraffe, chicken and dogs) and then the belittling mental illness subplot really put the nail in the coffin for me. It's hard to think what to write, this movie just wasn't that good and should never have been made, it wasn't well written, it didn't even live up to the second movie in the series, it just didn't do anything and I can't even be fussed owning it.

Stick with the first movie, maybe the second, but not this one, not at all.
