Review #10366 - Dated: 9th of January, 2014 Author: mizim |
Arthur is a trust fund baby who has never had to do a days work in his life, as such he is lazy, more like a child than a grown-up and is on the fast track to loosing everything. He ends up being expected to marry a local business partners daughter in order to keep his money, but ends up falling in love with someone else, what to do next.
Brand delivers a character I wouldn't expect from anyone else from him. Having never seen the original I am able to enjoy this without linking it or comparing it to the original. I loved Helen Mirren and liked her as the best in the movie. The rest of the characters were nice, but none of the acting was fantastic.
There are a few good laughs in this, but all the type of humour you expect from Brand, so it isn't something I find hilarious. There were a couple of things I liked, such as the bat car and buying a whole range of movie cars. Some touching moments were involved in Arthur's relationship with his nanny, and their relationship was the far better moments in the movie.
Not the greatest movie that I have ever watched but by far not the worst.
