Review #10193 - Dated: 20th of November, 2013 Author: CorrinaS |
While Nanny Piggins is a book designed for children I really enjoyed it myself, I started giggling to myself from early on in the book and found myself giggling several times while reading the book. I have just passed it on to my nearly 11 year old niece to read and I know she will love it.
Nanny Piggins' guide to conquering Christmas contains 5 short stories about the antics of Nanny Piggins, Boris the bear and the Green children. Nanny Piggins is anything but the normal everyday Nanny in fact she gets herself in more situations and in more trouble then the children!
In between the short stories the book is packed full of yummy recipes, Christmas games, fashion advice for surviving the holiday season and lots of handy tips, one such tip that had me laughing was not to be wicked in December if you feel the need to be wicked do so in the first 11 months of the year, Santa is very elderly after all with a lot on his mind so is unlikely to remember the rest of the year when it comes to writing the naughty and nice list!
R.A.Spratt has a wonderful sense of humour which appeals to adults as well as kids, I'm certainly keen to now read more of the Nanny Piggins series.
