When I put my hand up to review books suitable for my 11 year old I know that I will be reading them too, so when this one came up to review aimed at young adults I was eager to give it a read as it looked really interesting. I can definitely say although completely suitable for teens this book is also great as a light read for adults too. I read it over the course of two evenings, whereas it will probably take my 11 year old a bit longer.

The story focuses around the murder of teenager Ashlee, and finding out who killed her. The main character Emily is daughter of the accused, Her dad an ex army soldier stumbled from the woods carrying Ashlee's lifeless body and in the story Emily strives to prove her Dad's innocence. We also get to look at the murder from the view of Ashlee's boyfriend who was with her in the woods that night. Each chapter in the book is from a different perspective but they begin to intertwine and link together throughout the book.

Both characters tell the story fantastically and the suspense is there throughout the whole book keeping you wanting to turn the page and find out the truth. The story is full of mystery and secrets and certainly kept me guessing right throughout. I am glad of the way it ended although completely un-expected but I had grown to be quite fond of Emily's character and wanted things to end well for her character.
