This series of books are fantastic.....this is the second in the series of Geronimo Stilton books that I have had the pleasure of reviewing and even though they are way out of my age bracket I would be keen to read the other books in the series because they are funny and have me laughing out loud at Geronimo and the wacky adventures he finds himself involved in.

I love the way the author changes the words within the book to incorporate the words mouse and rat (enormouse....and Ratollo 16 for the space rocket name) and the another font style I like is how certain words within the book are made extra special and bold emphasizing their importance within the plot. I found this to be fun and exciting and keeps the reader excited and engaged while reading the book.

The illustrations are fun and really make the story even funnier in my opinion because what I imagine happening and what the illustrator actually portrays in the pictures are even better than what I can even imagine.

I love the extra information within the book with real facts about space, so not only can we laugh at Geronimo and his wacky secret agent adventures we are learning facts about space, the solar systems and planets....totally cool.

I can see this book being a favourite with young boys, space rockets, secret agents, space travel etc. every boys dream right??!! But my niece loved reading this book as well, she said she would love to go into space one day. In my opinion this book is a winner!!

kymmage   Review #7718 - Dated: 3rd of March, 2013

We managed to read this whole book today during baby sister's naps. My daughter just loves Geronimo Stilton. She enjoys the fact he is such a scaredy mouse, and that he always ends up on big adventures. I find it funny that he is such a cowardly mouse and yet, he always seems to volunteer himself for dangerous things. It's quite good though, as far as heroes goes - a hero who doesn't let his fear stop him doing amazing things. Plus all the female characters in these books are strong, incredibly smart and easily on equal or greater footing than Geronimo. That makes me give it the big tick.

This book is called Mouse in Space. To be fair when it started, I had no idea how he would end up in space or why. And the way it kind of happens does sneak up on you. Still, the adventure is exciting, and we found ourselves lost in the tale, reading to see what happened next. There are a few hairy bits, and Geronimo acting silly around the pretty girls. Plus his famouse clumsiness that gave us a giggle. I like when they work that clumsiness into the adventure before the conclusion, its the right balance here.

Again, lots of neat facts about space and the science of gravity. I like when we learn something when we read, even if this is fiction. My daughter loves to learn about space, so its a good way to get more information to her through a fictional mouse reporter. The illustrations were really eye catching and fun. My daughter likes to stop the story and look through everything. When they are diagram style, she likes to go through the image number by number to learn more. Even the font style changes are starting to grow on me. Another great book from Geronimo Stilton.
