Effective anti-dandruff shampoo bar that smells like tar. Cade oil gives Soak and Float its distinctive smell of freshly made tar.

Cade oil works against the microbes that cause dandruff and let's face it, you'd rather smell of tar than have flaked skin all over the shoulders of your cool black outfit, wouldn't you? We add lavender oil to help your scalp get back into condition and to make it a bit less stinky.

I was sent into Lush as a mystery shopper and my assignment was to ask about their hair products. Since I have developed a bit of dandruff recently I thought I would see what Lush product they could offer me. I was surprised when the shop assistant suggested a solid shampoo called soak and float . I had never heard of a solid shampoo so was very curious. She explained that I just lather some up in my hands and put it through my hair like a shampoo. I had to try it so I bought a bar.

I also bought a storage tin for the solid soap mainly because I had nowhere in the shower that I could store it that the kids wouldn't get to it and away from the shower spray which would dissolve it extra fast. The tin is recommended for travel too. I found the tin very hard to open especially with wet hands and more than once I have given up and just washed my hair with the kids' shampoo.

The Soak and Float bar has worked wonders for my dandruff. I am not constantly seeing bits of my flaky scalp every time I look in the mirror. It is just as easy to use as the shop assistant said. The bar doesn't seem to have gotten any smaller in the three weeks I have been using it. I am hoping that this means it will last a long time and make it good value for money, but only time will tell.

The one thing I hate about it is the smell. It smells like ash. When I walk into the bathroom I can smell if I have left the lid of the tin. I find it is essential to follow up with a pleasantly scented conditioner to help mask the smell. No one has commented on me smelling smoky so, unless everyone is being polite, it can't be as bad once my hair is dry and had some fresh air.
