It's grey water and septic tank safe, and contains biodegradable surfactants - a gentler choice for you and the environment.

Directions: Earthwise Dishwasher Cleaner should be used on a monthly basis to clean hard to reach filters, spray arms and pipes. Remove all dishes before placing in your dishwasher. Earthwise Dishwasher Cleaner should only be used when your dishwasher is empty. Do not add dishwasher detergent.

Simply flip the cap lid open (Do not remove cap) and place the bottle upside down in the bottom rack like you would a plate and ensure that it does not obstruct the spray arm. Run the dishwasher on a heavy wash or pot cycle MIN 65oC.

We used to have a dishwasher in our house but it always smelt really bad and we couldn't seem to get rid of the smell so the dishwasher got put out in the garage leaving me washing dishes every day, which isn't my most favourite of jobs. When I recently won a truck load of Earthwise products in the KIWIreviews birthday month competition I had heaps of dishwasher products that I could not use but my mother in law was very happy to take them off my hands.

They had been away living overseas for 2 years on a working holiday so there dishwasher had sat unused for a couple of years and did have a very stale smell so the first thing she decided to do was run one of these through the dishwasher. We put the bottle in and turned the dishwasher on to a hot wash and let it work it's magic. The dishwasher wasn't overly dirty looking as it was cleaned before being left but the odour was definitely there. It was an exciting wait for the dishwasher to finish it's cycle to see the results!

When it was finished the dishwasher had a fresh scent and the metal inside of the machine was clean and shinier than before too. I was very impressed! And so easy to use too, you could easily just run one of these through every few months to keep everything fresh! Now the nagging at my partner to bring our dishwasher back inside and try to get rid of the smell has begun, it would seriously make my day not having to wash dishes and I have so many bottles of dishwasher gel that I could use too!

When it comes to the dishwasher, ignorance is definitely bliss..it is easy to take for granted the fact that one can assume the dishwasher will self clean, I mean its got all that hot water swishing around in there, sometimes for over an hour depending on which cycle you have it on, so one can only assume it is self cleaning.

However the smell that sometimes eminates from inside the dishwasher, most definitely suggests otherwise. Having used earthwise products before, and being very happy with them in the past, we opted to try the earthwise dishwasher cleaner the first time we decided to well clean the dishwasher lol

I am not usually a fan of lemon smelling products, the remind me of something less than desirable, but as this was the only one available it was the one we got. The price wasnt half bad, although I did still think maybe a little high for something that was only going to be used the once. Anyway we popped it in the machine, set it to heavy duty..just to make sure it got a good clean, and 94 minutes later the beeping indicated it was done!

Okay so surprise, these things actually work...the dishwasher smelt good, for a lemon product that in itself was a surprise, thank fully this one was not that horrid lemon smell but a nice pleasant smell, and best of all the inside of the dishwasher looked sparking clean, so clean you could possibly eat off it if you really wanted too. Yes very impressed by how well this product works.

The Earthwise plant and mineral based dishwasher cleaner was up for a challenge, our family of uses and abuses our dishwasher and it is well overdue for a clean. The packaging clearly identified the dishwasher cleaner as an earthwise product. Setting it up and putting it to use couldn't have been easier. Flip the lid and pop it into your empty dishwasher as you would a plate, then set your dishwasher on a heavy or pot cycle. My dishwasher is a 'basic' model, which meant we picked the normal cycle, and set it going.

On opening the dishwasher the bottom was shining nicely, but the most impressive and unexpected result was a gentle citrus smell in our once rather stinky dishwasher. There was still a layer of crud in the channel where the door opened and shut, and this was easily wiped away. - It does say this product should be used monthly, and it had been much longer than a month since my dishwasher had been cleaned so I was very impressed with the result.

I do like that there was a fantastic job achieved without the use of chemicals and this is definitely a product I would use again, as this is not only natural, but New Zealand made, two qualities I look for when I shop. This is also one of the cheapest dishwasher cleaners around, and the only one that I have used that has left my dishwasher smelling so good!

Okay I have to be honest here. In the 7 odd years that we've had the dishwasher it has never been cleaned (we kinda figured that it would clean itself as it washed the dishes), in fact we've only had to empty the grease trap once (and now that i've said that it's gonna clog up again i'm sure of it). However in the interests of giving anything a go once we thought what the heck.

So we cracked open the dishwasher, made sure there were no cats hiding in there (don't ask, long story), and read the directions on the bottle. After determining that it was not going to fit in the cutlery holder, we opted for the wider width plate racks, and it fitted in there nice and snuggly with out us having to force it in there. Once that was done we put it on a normal cycle (90 odd minutes) and left it to do it's thing.

Well 90 odd minutes later we heard the beep-beep-beep of the dishwasher and we went to inspect the results, and I must say I was very suitably impressed. The first thing we noticed was the delightful smell that rushed out at us when we opened the dishwasher, in fact it was still lingering in the kitchen a good 30 minutes later. The second thing we noticed was how shiny the stainless steel looked, in fact it looked almost brand new.

So after that we have now decided that we will give the old dishwasher a cleaner run thorough every couple of months or so as it did and absolutely amazing job of cleaning it and it even seemed to make it work better at washing the dishes.

Well since I have moved into my place I never had used the dishwasher cause it was smelly and I didn't have a clue how to clean it with out buying something I had no idea about, so I left it and chose not to use it. When this product came up for review I jumped at the chance to try it out and see what I liked for cleaning the dishwasher. It came in a decent looking bottle with easy to follow instructions I was pleased to say the least.

Open the top and leave the cap and put on the dinner rack on one of the prongs, over 65 degree wash, so I did this on a normal cycle. I dont think my dishwasher liked it too much, after 10mins it was beeping at me like no-ones business, but i just opened it up and pushed it again till it did it again. The dishwasher looked clean and smelt wonderful so I was happy with the result of it.

This product was so easy to use and left the dishwasher clean and left me happy, I will be happy to get something this easy to use, but hard to say if i will actually get a one time use product for $8

I have never cleaned the inside of my dishwasher. There, that's my awful confession. We have owned this house for over 6 years and the poor old thing has been limping along with us the whole time. The least I could have done was clean it. But I was under the impression it kind of cleaned itself (shhh, don't tell my husband!)

When this product arrived I was intrigued. It seems pretty pricey for a one shot item. However, I kept my mind open and carried forth. The bottle was really easy to open. The instructions were really easy to read and follow. The description of where to place it was easy to understand. I put the bottle in the dish-rack part. I double checked that the spray arm could move freely and then turned it onto its highest/longest wash cycle.

Once the cycle finished, the smell of lemon and clean was coming from the machine. I opened it up and the smell came through the kitchen. It was very nice and refreshing. Everything looked pretty shiny too. The bottle was empty, so that was it really.

Its an interesting kind of product. Although it says to do monthly, I'm not sure I would. But I do like the idea of doing it occasionally. Might be a "parent's visiting" kind of thing to do. Shove it on just before they are set to arrive!

[pic^http://bit.ly/P6Xvdc^http://on.fb.me/P6XjdW^T^pic]I was really not sure what to expect when i trialled this product. I have never before brought a special cleaner for the dishwasher (to be honest I didn't really know they existed), usually I splash around some white vinegar and just use the rinse aid and dish-washing powder or tablets. When I looked on the dish-washing powder box - it does advertise another brands cleaner, similar to this - so i guess its becoming a popular product! Maybe I was about to find out why!!

I read the instructions which were nice and easy to follow, simply open the lid *but do not remove cap* and place upside down like you would a dinner plate. I liked this example as I knew exactly how and where to pop it. It said to use a wash cycle over 65 degrees, so i turned ours onto the heavy duty cycle at 70 degrees and left it to be.

The inside to me didn't look to 'yuck' to begin with but we have had the washer for a year and a half and as I said, I've never used this before. The inside piece that you can see if you lift the grate at the bottom always has looked a little icky, so was keen to see if this would make it any better (it has a slight pink tinge). I took my son to daycare and did some jobs and when i came home the whole front half of the house had this amazing clean smell and yep ... you guessed it - it was coming from the dishwasher! 10/10 for the nice smells!!

I opened up the dishwasher and it was nice and sparkly and had a much brighter shine that before. But apart from that I'm not really too sure what it achieved. The pink tinge under the grate is still there and i wash the grate and filters regularly so nothing had really changed.

I'm really not sure if I would buy this again. I think its something that your either into or not. Maybe I'd purchase if I was selling my house and wanted to give it a good clean smell/feel or perhaps during a spring clean. But being on a bit of a budget I cannot see it as being something i would buy every month.

On the plus its eco friendly and safe for septic tanks which rocks! The design of the bottle is great because when you tip it over, nothing spills out but somehow during the wash it is all released. The packaging is very modern, clean and green looking. I really like the Earthwise brand after having been able to review numerous other products in their range.

I have tried to clean my dishwasher regularly but must admit it has been a while since the last clean using a Dishwasher cleaning product. My dishy was definitely needing a clean so the Earthwise Dishwasher cleaner was straight in as soon as I got it home.

Very easy to use. Open the lid, tip upside down and place in the bottom plates rack and turn the dishwasher on to a 65 degree wash. Done!

My dishwasher is definitely very shiny now and smells sooo good. (It was smelling pretty awful before). The cleaner seems to have done a very good job. Certainly as good as other products I have used but what I love about this is the smell. So lemony and yummy.

The bottle is a grade 5 plastic so I can't recycle it in Hamilton.

I love that this product is made in New Zealand and is free of nasty chemicals so not harmful to the environment. I will definitely be purchasing this in the future to keep my dishwasher smelling nice. The cost is comparable to other "nasty" products I have used so this wins me over on it's "goodness"!

Definitely recommend this even if just to see what you think. I think its great :-).
