Tucker   Review #4622 - Dated: 2nd of June, 2011

Even though this isn't the biggest, or most powerful, or fastest, or sleekest of the range... personally, I think this is one of the most fun one yet!

Making the best of a rare display of good weather, I took this out into the parking area and started running it around, making best efforts to wash the rear bumper and numberplate of my car with the water gun. Then, my 3yr old son came toddling out asking "What you doing, Dad? Oh! A truck!" Little did he realise it had a surprise up it's front bumper...

As he came down the steps to get a closer look, it was a simple matter to whip the buggy around and give him a soaking. Boy, the expression on his face was classic! He didn't know whether to be surprised, shocked, laugh or run screaming. In the end, in typical 'kid' style, he worked out something that covered it all. While screaming "Stop stop stop" he kept running around in front of the buggy no matter where I turned it, and waited until it squirted him again, then ran around it once more, giggling like mad... It was a very special half hour for us both.

This buggy performed flawlessly... it even has a 'turbo' mode that worked! My only wishes were that the water tank was larger, and there was a third joystick that allows you to aim the water cannon, even if only adjusting the vertical aim, so you can vary the range.

It took 70 minutes to fully charge, and that offered up 43 minutes of just driving, or 37 minutes of driving and blasting water until the tank went dry. Not too shabby indeed! Especially by today's standards of battery life.

Overall, this is by far my "Hit Pick" from the range as it stands... I mean heck, this beastie even has working headlights and tail-lights that glow whenever it accelerates or slams into reverse - how cool is that! Also, after speaking with some 'RC Enthusiasts' it appears the batteries you get in this kit are pretty high up the quality scale. Not right at the top - that would add another $50-$70 onto the price tag - but high enough you can be reasonably assured of a LOT of playtime before you need to look at replacement batteries. There are battery kits you can look at that will extend the duration of play - by bumping the mAh rating up to around the 1100mAh range - but whatever you do, don't bump the VOLTAGE up - that *will* give you more speed, until you burn the motors and/or circuits out. Then you have nothing but a very expensive paperweight or doorstopper.
