I love all the movies in the Shrek series and watched this one as soon as it came out at the cinema. My daughter loved the character of Shrek and Donkey and as soon as the ads came on for the sequel it was all we heard about so had to go and see it as soon as possible.

I wasn't disappointed this movie was just as good if not better than the first movie. With Shrek and Fiona happily honeymooning before they were summoned to go meet Fiona's parents. Except Shrek wasn't exactly what the King and Queen were expecting so much so that the King hires a hit man to take Shrek out. In comes Puss in Boots who was really such a great character!! A lot of other new characters come out in this movie including Prince Charming.

Shrek himself has to discover that Fiona would not be happier with a handsome prince and her parents have to accept that Fiona is happy and in the end true love prevails. Such a fantastic fairy tale story which is more modern than the traditional fairy tales from years gone by.

The animation in this movie is superb with eye poppingly vivid images and beautiful scenery that has so much detail that it almost seems real. The humour throughout like the first movie is really funny although a lot of it goes right over younger children's heads so it is enjoyable for the whole family.

Oh my gosh I am a HUGE Shrek fan....I love the way Mike Myers IS Shrek, and who can resist Donkey with his cuteness, he is all teeth!! It is easy to forget they are cartoon characters as the actors and animators make them come to life.

This isn't just a movie for children there is plenty in the storyline to entertain adults as well....I love how there are hidden jokes and humour throughout the movie to keep adults hooked and laughing just as much as the children. I am always a sucker for happy endings and romantic storylines and Shrek and Fiona are the perfect couple, overcoming all obstacles to be together.

Most sequels are never as good as the first movie but Shrek 2 did the movie world justice by introducing more characters to enhance the funniness of the movie. Even after all these years the children still request this movie on movie night and no matter how many times it is watched we all still get a giggle out of it and fall in love with the characters all over again.

If you haven't seen this movie go and rent it now.....not just for the kids!!

I'm a huge fan of the Shrek franchise. I have seen all the movies and all the specials as well. I love the fairytale genre. And I especially love the way Shrek twists those fairy tales so they are familiar but also new.

Shrek 2 was a very enjoyable romp. I loved the new characters. The fairy godmother was my favourite. I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Saunders and she was perfect, cast in that role. She has a passable singing voice and has great timing.

Puss was a fun addition as well, and I enjoyed the rivalry for Shrek's friendship. Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy continued to deliver Shrek and Donkey to the standard we'd expect - friendly bickering and all.

It was nice to see the character Fiona come sinto her own as well, so we could see the development of her getting use to being an orge full time. John Cleese and Julie Andrews as her parents was awesome casting as well.

Overall, really enjoyed this movie, revisiting all my old Shrek friends and meeting some new ones.

I went to see this at the theatres as soon as it came out. I loved the first Shrek movie and got it on DVD the moment it came out. Unfortunately it was stolen from our house in between buying it and the next movie release. But I was heavily invested in the franchise and wanted to see the latest outing.

Also I love Jennifer Saunders, and have to see anything and everything that she is involved in. From French and Saunders to her part in a Muppet movie, I love her attitude.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love fairytale re-interpretations and Shrek is no different. This time we had new characters as well as the old ones. I really enjoyed this for a sequel. Definitely going to be looking for a box set once I'm sure that they have stopped making the Shrek films.

Shrek 2 just didnt grab me like the first movie - having said that there's a lot to like in the movie. The script is witty, entertaining and chock-full of family-friendly messages. The animation is amazing and the voices are brilliantly convincing. But ill-timed and ill-intentioned scenes are salted throughout. I find it a shame though that a movie with product licensing and ad tie-ins targeted at young children has to include material edgy enough to demand a PG rating. Parents need to be warned about "some crude humor, a brief substance reference and some suggestive content."

I kinda liked the first Shrek movie, but it didn't impress me much at the time. The only reason I bought it was for my son, who ended up not liking it much either. It had, I thought, a few too many not-well-hidden adult jokes... I mean hey, what would you do if your child got in trouble at school for walking around calling other kids "Fahrquad"... or the 'naughty word' that sounds very similar?

However, they seem to have learned from the mistakes of the first movie, and have really put out a top notch storyline this time, with very few 'possibly naughty' character names. What it has plenty of is intrigue and subversion, blackmail and love, and of course totally PACKED with piss-takes from other movies. (I loved the Mongo scene! Funny as. You'll recognise it the moment you see it.)

I would have to say that of all the new characters, my favourite most certainly was Antonio Banderas as 'Puss in Boots'. His accent was perfect for the swashbuckling feline. Excellent casting there, I must say.

Overall, this one won't have to wait until it's on special to be added to my collection. It will be on my shelves shortly after it's on the shop shelves!
