Taking risks is second nature to Taren, but this could be more than she can handle...

Amidst a raging space-quake and shrouded by celestial mist, the lost world Maladaan appears in the Esh-Mah star system hurtling towards the sun. Taren Lennox and Lucian Gervaise - floating adrift through space on AMIE - are rescued by the immortal psychics of a utopian planet. But their saviours believe Taren and Lucien to be incarnations of the great ancestors, come to help them remove this new, aggressive neighbour from their universe.

Aided by their new allies, Taren seeks to retrieve her lost memories from the Maladaan Secret Service's memory bank - discovering that the way to return Maladaan to it's rightful universe and future lies ten years in her past...

Tucker   Review #4175 - Dated: 2nd of January, 2011
  Author: Tucker

The second instalment in the Triad of Being trilogy, this is a full-on, action-packed, mind-trip of a tale that grabbed me right away and took me on a rollercoaster ride across the boundaries of space, time and dimensions.

Combining such esoteric plot elements as mystical powers, genetically-engineered immortality, downloadable memories, teleportation, time travel, higher-dimensional beings, and a host of other amazing concepts into one coherent whole is a bit of a mission at the best of times, but to do it successfully for the second time in a row is a show of just how good Traci Harding is as an author.

I'm not 100% sure whether to classify this as fantasy or sci-fi, but I can certainly classify it as brilliant. The way Traci blended levels, or planes, or branes, or whatever, or reality and brought soul-fragments together was a little confusing, but the more I read, the easier it became to keep track and see how the various threads wove into a tapestry spanning all of creation's multiverse.

Overall, not for the faint of mind, this saga is shaping up to be a bit of a brain-pretzel maker. I can't wait for part 3!
