Tucker   Review #17 - Dated: 11th of August, 2003

I bought this as a cool toy. Little did I know I would come to find this the most valuable, time-saving tool I have ever owned, despite owning 2 PDAs prior to this. (But they are another story.)

As if the day-to-day features of this unit were not enough, having BlueTooth has made this small unit into something much, much bigger. Utilising my Sony Ericcson T68i cellphone and the pre-installed drivers, I can access the internet from anywhere - checking my email, bringing up portfolio sites to show existing and potential new clients, bring up our up-to-the-minute stats and charge rates, plus lots more.

The software that comes bundled with the unit is remarkable in that it is not some cheap demoware, it is all quality software that enhances the functionality of the Palm Tungsten-T. And with an almost stunning range of software available on the greater net, this small but powerful business tool has dimensions you would not believe at first glance.

I would suggest to anyone looking for a high-quality PDA at a reasonable price, look at this unit - you won't be disappointed.

*** ADDENDUM *** After less than a year, I am finding some serious faults with this unit.

The HotSynch is starting to fail and lock-up for no apparent reason, the digitizer has to be run almost daily to keep the calibration on the stylus and touchscreen, alarms will not sound for some reason, it's Bluetooth communication is flakey at best, and it still won't properly connect to my Sony-Ericsson T610 cellphone with Bluetooth, despite having the lastest patches and drivers installed on them both... something about the BT 'modem' not being fully compatible - what a crock of bollix!

And when I approached the retailer who sold it to me, with regard to repairs, turn-around time, etc... I was HORRIFIED to find out that all repairs are processed in TAIWAN! I would be without the PDA for over *6 WEEKS* while they fixed it. This is astoundingly crap after-sales service, I thought.

Overall, I am starting to wish I had bought an iPac.
