Seems so long ago now but I had these markers for my daughter when she was younger and absolutely loved them!! The ones we had came in a little boat that you could store the markers in and also became a toy that you could pull along. I tried looking for these recently for my son and it seems they have been discontinued which is gutting as they were such great markers for a begining artist in the making.

As youngsters grip with their whole hand these were perfect as the rounded shape meant they could grip the markers easily and have a firm grip to create their masterpieces. It was also great that they didn't need lids as young children would forget to do this and the pens would dry out but these ones didn't which I found to be really handy. You simple dabbed them a few times and the colour would come back through again.

I would love to see these back on the market and would personally rally crayola to get them back again as they are just so cool, so for now my son just has normal crayons until I find a product like this that is suitable for under two's.

I like these felts as they are nice and chunky making it easy for my daughter to hold. I found the felts were rather wide, they could've been narrower, so there could've been more picture per page. Also my daughter has a habit of pressing hard on some things, which caused the felts to leak out a lot of ink causing fuzzy paper and taking a long time to dry.
I would like to see more of a colour selection, but maybe if you buy more sets, they may have different colours?
The felt colours were very vibrant, a definate must for young artists!

Easily one of the best arts and crafts gifts you could get for your child. I let my little 2 year old niece have a play with these and it was amazing watching how easily she got the hang of them. Grabbing them is simple as they are big and chunky, perfect for tiny hands. With cool characters to help her work out the colours and the shaped body-bits that give them extra grip for her, they are by far the perfect starting-off marker pen.
A couple of dabs and a touch of frustration, then suddenly the colours were flowing and she was away laughing. OK so at this age shes no Picasso but she had no trouble waving them around the page and making lots of pretty swirls. The best bit was that when she decided to use them as airplanes there was no leakage and stains to deal with.
I did notice though that if she left them pressed on the page for too long without moving them that they did tend to dump a lot of ink and make the page soggy and the lines fuzzy. This didn't worry her at all but it did make me decide to put a few old newspapers under her artpad, just in case.
The red was quick rich and bright, the green was really a stunning shade and perfect for all green-things a kid could dream up, and the brown was a nice rich-earth brown, not that horrible stinky-mud brown you get in some products.
All in all and excellent product, great for kids aged from 2 years and up. I think 18 months might be a little TOO early, but to each their own. if your kid is showing artistic talent early, get yourself down to the shops and grab a few of these sets.
